- 2001: Published Drawing Our Lives, a resource guide outlining DWEBA’s use of visual language as a participatory methodology (see points below).
- 1998 – 2001: Louise and two other women formed a non-government organisation (NGO), (DWEBA), a development and skills training NGO aimed primarily at rural craftswomen in KwaZulu-Natal. DWEBA worked with crafters from Gannahoek, Muden, Esithumba, Rorke’s Drift, with The Lubombo SDI Craft Programme and other NGO’s.
- 1995 – 2001: Applied and developed a visual language-based, gender-sensitive and participatory methodology which had been developed through research conducted through The Institute of Natural Resources (INR), UNP (1989 -1991) with groups of rural KZN craftswomen.
- 1995 – 1997: Worked with Gannahoek Women’s Income Generating Project (GWP), through The Association of Rural Advancement (AFRA), Pietermaritzburg.
- 1989 – 1991: Research with rural craftswomen and development of a framework for a gender- sensitive, participatory training methodology with visual language at its core, INR, UNP.
